REASONS FOR MOVING THE DATES:
1. The Finlin has a large Wedding scheduled for Saturday evening we couldn’t have dinner or meeting there. There might be a shortage of rooms as well.
2. The Mineral Museum at Montana Tech is only open on weekdays as they are shorthanded and most of the students are gone for the summer.
3. The Archives are only open on weekdays as well and we felt this would be a very interesting tour and experience for our members. We have also chosen to have one of the staff do a presentation on the Women of Butte. That talk comes highly recommended. The Archives have a large meeting room where we can have lunch catered in and we can listen to the speaker there.
4. Sandy and I have looked at the schedules from the last times the conference was held in Butte and we wanted to not have our total focus be on mining but rather some interesting historical facts about Butte people.
5. We wanted to allow time for our members to do some exploring on their own. Sandy and I have learned so much by just visiting with the Butte residents and visiting the various shops. Sunday is a great time to do just that. Individual tours can be set up of some of the other historic landmarks on Sunday. We will make all that info available.
